Relationship Priorities - Me Focus

I have to adjust my focus if I want to make way for building and growing my relationships. I need to focus on me – what I am doing and not doing and how to adjust those to a better way.

1. Mold Breaking. I have to be willing to accept that all the molds that I have created for all the people in my life are just a waste.

2. Problem Accepting. I have to recognize my problems so that I can begin to adjust in my journey.

3. Attitude Adjusting. I have to invest energy and resourcing into personal attitude adjustments.

4. Thought Capturing. I need to develop the skill of capturing and corralling the thoughts going through my head and then master the art of correcting them before I set them free again.

5. Word Wielding. I must learn that my words will change me and begin practice using the words for just such an end.

I create a me focus by choosing to look at me with honesty, to fix what I see that is not aligning with my purpose, and then to step into a path that creates ways for me to connect with others and to grow up those connections into foundational relationships.

#GrowingHOPE understands that before I can get anywhere in getting my relationship priorities straight, I need to get me straight. I have to have a me focus that allows me to recognize when I am off target and then find my way back to the right path when I do.

Me focus – if I want to build solid relationships in my life then I need to be invested in being the best me I can be. I get there when I look at self, evaluate self, and focus on self.

Clutter free – release the extras. I have to remove all those things that hold me back from doing what needs to be done.

Hear me – develop the skill of listening, because it is a learned skill that must be honed and practiced. Skilled hearing includes the receptions of words, the awareness of actions and attitude, and also an understanding of the environment.
Investing 101 – the basic steps that lead to relationship investment including thoughts on time, resources, and focus.

Expect Nothing – because it is the expectations that end up getting u in the most trouble.

Growing Change: Right Focus

Today:
Growing Change – Part Three – Right Focus

Focus makes a difference and the right focus makes all the difference. I am growing change for my life because I am being intentional about what I do and where I go. Intentional actions happen when I get the clarity of focus that allows me to see the steps I need to take.

I begin to clear up my focus or to get my focus right by making a few minor adjustments to my day.

1. I have to build a habit of reading Scripture and it needs to be such a natural part of my day that my day feels off unless I invest in that reading.

2. I need to study with others – in person or online. The group dynamics will help to feed my focus and also will provide some accountability for the journey.

3. I have to make time for daily conversation with God – and the conversation should include time of praise, time of petition, and time of being still and listening.

4. I need to invest in a church community – not just in volunteering to be part of activities but in active engagement with others to build up relationships. Tit is the relationships that make the church.

5. I need to write down my concerns, my encounters, and my answered prayers. Keeping a record of the petitions and the blessings that come along will make it possible to keep my focus during the toughest times and during the times when things are so quiet that it doesn’t seem I even need to focus.

Growing HOPE understands until I step into the change, I will never know how the change will (or will not) work for my life.

I grow up change for my life when I take a few steps into that change.

First – I have to take off the mask I have to stop pretending that I am somewhere that I am not.

Second – I have to choose the direction that I want to go because I am not where I want to be simply because I haven’t been moving in the direction I want to go.

Third – I have to put my attention on the right place. The only way that I can walk on water is to have a focus on Christ.

Fourth – I have to stop looking back. Trying to plow (or even walk for that matter) while I look behind will only leave everything in a mess.

Fifth – build a habit of belief. Speak it until you think it without having to think about it. See it until you belief it as natural as you breathe.

Today's show explores what the Lord is showing us in Ecclesiastes the third chapter. He emphasizes that we can't ever be fully satisfied here. He also explains about life having different seasons. We need to monitor our attention and recognize when we need to change our focus. While the Lord wants us to have pleasure in life, He also wants us to live with eternity in mind and to also reverence God.
